Stand back Miss Marple, Nancy Drew and the notorious girls of St Trinians - the Red Blazer girls are here to stay. Michael D. Beil’s Red Blazer Girls is hopefully the beginning of a most delightful series and would be a terrific movie – we can only hope.The scene is St. Veronica’s School for Girls in Manhattan. St Veronica’s is a not too snobby yet progressive school for girls and is the sister school for St. Andrews School for Boys. Everyone meets at the local coffee hangout – Perkatory - before and after school to review adventure options. The latest escapade begins with the sighting of a strange figure in the old nunnery. Investigation by the girls results in a search for hidden treasure, mathematical / archaeology clues and the reuniting of an estranged family.
Red Blazer Girls serves up a heap of friendship and intrigue with liberal doses of tongue and cheek humor wrapped up in the beginnings of romance. Red Blazer Girls is a fun read for everyone. I know I will be looking for the continuing exploits of the St. Veronica’s girls.
